The rescue started about 30 years ago, on a very small scale. Since then it has grown steadily to cope with the increasing number of Danes being bred. Scottish Great Dane Rescue’s aim is to find new, permanent and loving homes for Danes that have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned in Scotland. We currently re-home approximately 20+ Danes per year. Regretfully this figure has risen year on year. We derive our operating funds from donations and fund raising events. The rescue is run in conjunction with and is part of the Scottish Great Dane Club.
Scottish Great Dane Rescue is run by Mrs Karen Smith (one of the Club’s committee members).
